Privacy Policy

Your Information, Used Only to Help You

This page explains what we collect when you contact us, how we use it, and — just as important — what we will never do with it.

Effective Date: June 15, 2026

1. Who We Are

Software Licensing Advisors (“SLA,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is an independent Microsoft and Google cloud licensing advisory based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA. This Privacy Policy applies to information collected through the website at msftadvisors.com and through any LinkedIn Lead Generation Form sponsored by Software Licensing Advisors.

We are not affiliated with Microsoft Corporation, Google LLC, or LinkedIn Corporation.

The short version: We use the information you give us only to schedule and conduct an initial consultation or discovery call so we can scope a Statement of Work (SOW) for your review. We do not sell your information to third parties, and we do not use it for newsletters, drip campaigns, or marketing of any kind.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Submit to Our Contact / Consultation Forms

When you fill out the Contact Us form or the SMB License Guidance Engagement request form on msftadvisors.com, we collect:

2.2 Information You Submit Through a LinkedIn Lead Generation Form

If you respond to a LinkedIn advertisement sponsored by Software Licensing Advisors and submit a LinkedIn Lead Gen Form, LinkedIn shares with us the form fields you have authorized LinkedIn to share. These typically include your name, professional email address, company name, job title, and country, along with any answers you provided to custom questions on the form. LinkedIn’s own collection and processing of your data is governed by the LinkedIn Privacy Policy.

2.3 Information Collected Automatically

When you visit msftadvisors.com, our hosting provider and content delivery network (Cloudflare) automatically receive standard technical information that is generated whenever any browser visits any website. This includes your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, pages viewed, and the date and time of your visit. This information is used for site security, abuse prevention, and basic operational logging — not to build a marketing profile of you.

3. How We Use Your Information

Information you submit through our Contact Us form, our SMB License Guidance Engagement request form, or a LinkedIn Lead Gen Form sponsored by Software Licensing Advisors is used solely to:

If you choose not to proceed with an engagement, we have no further business reason to contact you, and we will not.

4. What We Do Not Do With Your Information

We want this part to be plain. We do not, and will not:

5. Service Providers Who Process Information on Our Behalf

We use a small number of well-known service providers to operate the website and deliver your messages to us. These providers are contractually permitted to process your information only as needed to provide their service to us, and they do not have rights to use it for their own marketing purposes:

Sharing your information with these service providers so they can perform the function described above is not a “sale” of your personal information under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA / CPRA) or comparable laws.

6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

msftadvisors.com does not use advertising cookies, behavioral tracking pixels, or third-party analytics that profile visitors across the web. Cloudflare may set a small number of cookies strictly for security and performance purposes (for example, to identify trusted traffic). No cookie consent banner is presented because no non-essential tracking is in use; if that changes in the future, we will update this policy and present an appropriate consent mechanism.

7. How Long We Keep Your Information

We keep your contact submission only as long as we have a legitimate business reason to do so — typically the duration of our outreach and any resulting engagement. If you do not respond to our follow-up, or if the conversation does not lead to an engagement, we will delete or de-identify the submission within a reasonable period, generally within twenty-four (24) months. If we enter into an engagement with you, related correspondence and engagement records are retained as long as needed to support that engagement and to meet our legal, tax, and recordkeeping obligations.

8. Data Security

We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information you share with us, including TLS / HTTPS in transit, access controls on the mailboxes that receive form submissions, and the security controls maintained by our service providers. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your Rights

You may, at any time, ask us to:

To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address in Section 13 below. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe and at no cost to you.

9.1 California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the rights described above and the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising them. As stated in Section 4, we do not sell or “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so no “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” mechanism is required, but you may still contact us with any privacy request.

9.2 Residents of the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland (GDPR / UK GDPR)

If you are located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, the legal basis for our processing is (a) your consent, given when you submit a form, and (b) our legitimate interest in responding to your inquiry and operating our advisory business. You have the right to access, rectify, port, restrict, or erase your personal data, to withdraw consent at any time, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

10. Children’s Privacy

msftadvisors.com is a business-to-business advisory site and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. Links to Other Sites

Our website links to third-party sites including LicenseBids.com, Directions on Microsoft, and others. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of sites we do not operate. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any site you visit.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the services we use, or applicable law. When we do, we will revise the “Effective Date” at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted on this page for a reasonable period after they take effect.
